Bhutan seeks the answer to the age-old “why Nature and its importance” and her constitution mandate that:

The Government shall ensure that, in order to conserve the country’s natural resources and to prevent degradation of the ecosystem, a minimum of sixty percent of Bhutan’s total land shall be maintained under forest cover for all time.”

Bhutan is one of the greenest countries in the world which is supposed to maintain 60% of forest coverage but as of 2019 has 74% of forest coverage. A team of 100 volunteers even managed to set a new Guinness world record by planting 49,672 trees in one hour. The lush forest of Bhutan houses 4 major national parks and 4 wildlife sanctuaries. Bhutan also has 9 biological corridors to link all the parks and sanctuaries to for the safe migration of wildlife. Bhutan has comprehended the value of natural resources and ensured that human and wildlife can coexist harmoniously
